If you have a MyPost account you can apply online. Otherwise you can download an application form (PDF 4.13MB) or ask for one at a participating Post Office.
PO Boxes and Private Bags can be leased for up to one year and then renewed annually. Our pro rata pricing runs from 1 April until 31 March the following year. A discount applies on an annual lease if the annual renewal is paid by 31 March each year (non-business customers only).
For new leases, an establishment fee is applicable, plus the balance of the annual pro rata price, depending on what month the lease begins. The pro rata charge for each month is one twelfth of the annual fee. Any lease that starts in February or March will include charges for a full year in addition to pro rata fees.

If you’ve been impacted by family and domestic violence within Australia, you may be eligible for a free PO Box for 12 months at a participating Post Office.

Lodge a mail redirection application in-store when you collect your PO Box keys and receive 6 months mail redirection for free.5
PO Box Plus provides you with a unique mailing address so that you can receive all of your parcels delivered to your PO Box, including up to 50 parcels per year delivered by third-party carriers, not just Australia Post and StarTrack.7
Once you’ve reached 50 parcels, a fee of $3 per parcel applies for each additional parcel you receive from a third-party carrier. This is payable on collection.
PO Box Plus is only available at participating Post Offices and is not available to business customers.

Only available for customers where Australia Post doesn't deliver to their residential or business address, and each non-delivery address is eligible for one reduced rate PO Box or locked bag at the nearest Post Office. (Note: assessment may take up to seven days. Customers may be changed to full rate if delivery circumstances change).

6 If your parcel is too large to fit in your PO Box, we’ll leave you a key so you can collect it from a PO Box red door. Red door boxes are available at participating Post Offices. Parcel delivery via red doors is subject to size and availability restrictions. Parcels that can’t be delivered using a red door box will be given a card or digital notification advising collection from the counter at the Post Office. Fees and charges may apply to carriers other than Australia Post and StarTrack to deliver parcels to PO Box services. Carriers may pass this cost on to customers.
